The Standard Process

The process for translating YouTube Videos is done in the YouTube Platform and not in the Essentials Translator. We are using their "Community Contribution" process. Here are the steps:

  1. Go to the video in YouTube (see below for direct links)* and click on the "Settings Icon" and then choose "Subtitles/CC".

  2. Then Select "Add Subtitles/CC" which will open up a new tab/window.

  3. Enter the language you wish to translate into. It will switch the page to the entry form.

  4. Work through the translation on the YouTube platform. If you need help, use the "Help" link.
    • Basically you are following along with the video filling in the appropriate translation for each line.
    • You can use auto-translator for assistance
    • Consult the help link for additional tutorials.

  5. When finished, hit the blue "Submit for Review" button.
  6. Submit a support ticket when done to let us know that you want your translation published.

Once we receive your request, we will then accept your translation (provided you're an official translator) and it will then be locked in an no one else will be able to overwrite your entries. We will then also edit the link to your translated video so that it will automatically load the captions for this language when loaded in the Essentials24 Website App.

Other Translation Options

If you wish to submit a file with translations for us to upload, please submit a ticket to request instructions. If you wanted to do a "voice over" narration for a video, please contact us and we will work with getting you what you need.
